![]() Today, Cohn is cancer free and feeling great! She has been on stage with the show “Celebrity Autobiography,” shot the web series “No Hooks Up Please” and had a guest spot on Bones. Cohn kept her diagnosis secret for a long time, ultimately underwent a double mastectomy, and stepped away from Hollywood to recuperate. A scan showed something in her breast and before she knew it, Cohn was being biopsied and soon diagnosed with breast cancer. She knew something was wrong and went to see her doctor. She was walking around her neighborhood and suddenly got so tired. ![]() One morning in 2012, Cohn’s life changed forever. She was the lead in the indie feature Violet Tendencies and had a reoccurring role in ABC Family’s Secret Life of the American Teenager. While continuing to have a successful voice over career, she has starred in the feature films Under the Gun, Alone with a Stranger, Swing, I Heart Huckabees, the independent feature Third Wish working alongside Betty White and the Daniel Waters, and the feature Sex & Death 101 opposite Simon Baker and Winona Ryder. She also starred in the pilot Virtually Casey for the Disney Channel and continues her long standing gig with Warner Brothers as the voice of "Velma” for all animated projects in the Scooby Doo franchise, for which she was nominated for a Daytime Emmy award. Cohn starred on the WB sitcom The Help alongside Antonio Sabato, Jr. She returned to television as “Mo Tucker” in the NBC series, The Second Half, starring John Mendoza, Wayne Knight and Jessica Lundy. Cohn received a Dramalogue Award for her performance in a production of “Catholic School Girls” at the Globe Playhouse in Los Angeles. She continues to study at the BGB Studio with Steve Braun. During this time, she studied improvisation and scene work with Gary Austin and Larry Moss. Cohn took a hiatus from her career to attend university, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Cultural Anthropology and a Masters in Education. She went on to make her feature film debut in The Boy Who Could Fly, which co-starred Colleen Dewhurst, Fred Gwynne and Fred Savage. The illustrious cast included Eileen Heckart, Stockard Channing, Robert Klein, Peter Riegart, and Dinah Manoff. Cohn appeared in her first professional stage performance in “Table Settings,” written and directed by James Lapine and filmed for HBO Television. Cohn played “Rose Jenko” in Fox’s 21 Jump Street. She teamed up with her former Facts of Life costars for a Lifetime holiday movie, Light Up My Christmas (2019), and an ABC special Live in Front of a Studio Audience in 2021 had guest appearances on Cobra Kai and Insecure and snagged a main role on the Netflix sitcom The Upshaws, costarring Wanda Sykes.Concurrently, with her role in Facts, Ms. Fields played Regine Hunter on the long running series costarring Queen Latifah.įields also dabbled in reality television, joining the cast of The Real Housewives of Atlanta for the show's eighth season in 2015, and Dancing With the Starsin 2016. ![]() She's best known for starring on another hit show featuring an all-female cast: Living Single. ![]() Her mom, Chip Fields, played her onscreen mother on The Facts of Life.Ĭontinuing in show business after the series ended, Fields is an actress and producer who starred on many popular shows of the time, including Mork & Mindy, 227, Martin, and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Fields already had other acting credits to her name by the time she booked the sitcom, including playing Janet Jackson's best friend Kim on Good Times and having already played Tootie (Arnold Jackson's girlfriend) on Diff'rent Strokes.
